Arches National Park in eastern Utah preserves over 2,000 sandstone arches among other geological resources. These magnificent natural wonders are subject to erosion, therefore climbing is prohibited on arches and natural bridges. Permits will be issued for climbing at designated sites which the Park Rangers strictly enforce. Camping, backpacking, hiking and driving along marked roads and trails is permitted. There is an abundance of wildlife and vegetation throughout the park, whose surrealistic and extraordinary coloration of the landscape gives little evidence of such life.
