Cape Cod National Seashore

Cape Cod National Seashore is located along the Atlantic Coast of Massachusetts, where a spit of land juts 60 miles into the ocean forming the peninsula that curves into a "hook" consequently creating Cape Cod Bay. This ancient formation of glacial origin offers 40 miles of sandy beaches, ocean swimming, as well as offering fishing, hiking, bicycling and hunting in designated areas, all in addition to the pure enjoyment of nature. There are numerous private tours, as well as Ranger led tours offering an opportunity to explore the multi-faceted history of the area dating back to ancient times, Native American history, the arrival of the pilgrims, the 18th century history of the lighthouses which lit the way for safe arrival of whaling ships and others; in addition to tours of the Marconi tower that helped pave the way into modern technology. The national heritage contained within this unique area is extensive and fascinating. A stop at the main Visitor Center is an opportunity to view films, exhibitions and garner information about the numerous places and people who have left their legacy upon this land.
