Dinosaur National Monument in Utah was created to protect dinosaur fossils and the cultural resources of this magnificent landscape. Stop at the Visitor Center to learn about the many stories of outlaws, settlers and the history of Native Americans that lived here. The Yampa and Green Rivers running through the Monument provided water for the Native Americans whose history dates back 11,000 years. The scenery is astounding at Split Mountain and Rainbow Park to mention a few, where multi-colored rock layers create amazing views. Whether backpacking, cycling, fishing, horseback riding or rafting you will view the wonderful variety of color created by the geology of the land. Hike the Fossil Discovery Trail, discover petroglyphs at McKee Springs, pictographs and homestead sites. There are several wonderful scenic drives that can also be taken as the Tour of the Tilted Rocks.
