Olympic National Park

Olympic National Park located in Washington is a huge park spanning over 922,000 acres and encompasses mountains, beaches, rain forest and glacier-capped peaks representing three ecosystems with 95% of the park designated as wilderness. The contrasts of scenery, flora and fauna provide a variety of activities depending upon interest. There are roads which offer wonderful auto tours, or backpacking, hiking, fishing and camping opportunities. Ranger-led programs are available, and there are several Visitor Centers that can offer assistance. While at the park look for the Roosevelt elk that were partially responsible for establishment of this park. The park protects the largest wild herd of elk in the world.
