Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument

Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument established in 1937 to preserve this magnificent setting of the American Southwest, is a designated UNESCO biosphere reserve located in southern Arizona where the State joins a border with Mexico's State of Sonora. This is the only place in the United States that the Organ Pipe Cactus grows wild alongside many other types of cacti and native desert plants that grow here. Taking a scenic drive or biking along the 21 mile Ajo Mountain Drive is one of the best methods of enjoying this park. There are Ranger programs, camping and hiking available, as well as the ever popular geocaching (GPS treasure-hunting).
