Sagamore Hill National Historic Site

Sagamore Hill National Historic Site is located near Oyster Bay, Long Island east of Manhattan, New York where President Theodore Roosevelt originated from. His childhood memories of the area led him to build this 19th house where he lived with his family for over thirty years; the most memorable being the early years of the 1900's, during his presidency. A museum is located in the Old Orchard building that explores the life and times of this well-loved and amazing President who garnered international attention. The premises which became known as the "Summer White House" can be explored in addition to exploration of the museum, its stories and its exhibits. The surrounding forested landscape, beach, meadows and salt marshes provide habitats for a variety of life that creates a delightful place to hike.
