The Ellsworth Loop Trail is a short hike located within one of the less populated hiking areas of the Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park. This quiet rainforest trail is surrounded by old growth redwoods, ferns and fallen giant redwood trees. Although the trail is relatively short, it has many steep sections. Take a moment to rest on one of the many benches carved out of fallen logs along the route of this captivating dense forest. To gain access to the Ellsworth Loop Trail, a section of the Leiffer Loop Trail must be hiked. November through March is the rainy season for the redwoods; the Leiffer Loop Trail can become waterlogged during this time. Non-slip, waterproof footwear is highly recommended.
The Ellsworth Loop Trail has a maximum elevation of 332 ft., a minimum elevation of 169 ft. and an elevation range of 163 ft.
